Myla was very supportive. I was very scared toward the beginning of my wife’s labor. I never knew how challenging it would be. I had never heard of a doula, and in Europe I wonder if they even exist, yet now I see why people have doulas. I didn’t know how unsupportive medical staff could be. Although kind, they check you, say “Dos and Don’ts,” and then leave – much like our experience with the first birth. I wasn’t sure how a doula would help us, or if they are welcomed in the hospital environment, so it was a bit concerning, but I am glad we hired Myla. Not only did she support my wife and I, she worked seamlessly with the medical folks. The staff was totally at ease with Myla’s presence, as she carried a normal matter-of-fact presence, no tension, and extremely supportive. Everyone was comfortable. We are glad we chose Myla to support us through our VBAC success.
