Myla was there for me, my family, and my midwife during my homebirth. She supported me greatly with true strength and sensitivity. I remember her holding my hand, caressing my hair, singing softly and being sure that I had everything I needed, offering food and water to nourish me on my journey and taking care of details like my warm bath water or lighting candles. I remember feeling a sense of relief that she was there with support and encouragement, especially in the tough moments, as my labor was long and intense. All of this allowed me to focus my energy and do the work that I needed to do. My goal was to have a peaceful, relaxed experience, and Myla’s presence was a balance of being non-intrusive, yet her support was so strong. I was eased by her simple presence. I looked in her eyes and I felt a great sense of courage. I feel so blessed to have had Myla and my widwife to aid me on this journey and allow me to have the birthing experience I so longed to have.
